What is the Different about Your Philosophy as a Criminal Defense Lawyer?

It is my duty to maintain my fundamental belief in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, including the Fourth Amendment. It’s the duty of all the lawyers in my office. A person charged with a crime must be given their day in court. This is not lip service. This is forcing the government to prove the person is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Even if the person is, in fact, guilty of a child pornography crime, if the government cannot prove its case, justice is served.

We as a society believe that government prosecutions can be inherently corrupt, meaning there may be individuals in government who prosecute crimes with motives other than simply trying to pursue justice. But nothing but justice should be done.

Historically, people have been charged with crimes even though they aren’t guilty of those crimes, but they are made to look guilty through the efforts of law enforcement. Not forcing the government to jump through hoops proving each and every element of the criminal act not only waters down our justice system but puts a tremendous amount of power in the government’s hands.

I look at each case and “wrap my arms around it,” so to speak, trying to determine the best possible method to represent and defend my client. The old saying that it’s better to have ten guilty people go free rather than one innocent person go to prison is still true today – even in cases of child pornography.
