Maryland police find $165K worth of marijuana in drug bust

Maryland police have recently arrested several people for drug crimes, including drug possession and intent to distribute during a drug bust and a couple of traffic stops.

According to WBAL TV, Anne Arundel County officers and Maryland State Police worked together on a drug bust in Anne Arundel County, resulting in two arrests and the seizure of approximately $165,000 worth of marijuana, or about 8,200 grams. The Maryland State Police and Anne Arundel County police conducted a joint investigation of two men. The men, a 24-year-old and a 25-year-old, were frequently seen together at a hotel in the area. Police charged both men with drug possession and intent to sell marijuana.

Earlier in the week, Anne Arundel County police performed a routine stop for a traffic violation when the driver exited the car and fled into the woods. Police captured the man shortly thereafter and recovered 100 grams of marijuana, valued at over $2,300 that the man had attempted to throw away. The man was arrested and charged with drug possession and intent to distribute marijuana.

On the same day, police stopped another car and noticed drugs fall from the driver’s pockets when he reached toward the glove box. This man also attempted to flee the scene, but the police quickly caught him. The man had 30 capsules on his person, containing what the police suspected to be more than $400 worth of heroin. The man was arrested and charged with driving while suspended, resisting arrest and several other traffic and drug violations.
